Whether you are a beginner or an advanced guitar player, imagine how you will feel when you become the musician you have always wanted to be.

The best and most effective way to get there is to work with the right guitar teacher who will show you exactly what you need to know and help you learn to use that knowledge to become a great guitar player.  A teacher who will encourage you (or your child) to become the best you can be and take you through the steps of learning the guitar in a way that will ensure your progress, enable you to have fun while learning and feel confident that you are on the right path to becoming a great guitar player and musician.

How to avoid the number one pitfall that affects beginning guitar players

-Zack Uidl

Many beginning guitarists usually go looking for guitar lessons and fall for the “lowest price” or “teacher closest to my house” or “music store teacher” guitar lessons–thinking that all guitar teachers and guitar lessons are the same. This is simply not true, and it is the number one pitfall that affects beginning guitar players and causes them massive amounts of frustration and leaves them discouraged with their progress (or lack of it) on the guitar.  Soon, they find themselves either completely bored with unmusical finger exercises, boring songs, or they end up completely overwhelmed and frustrated with “too much information, too soon” from their teacher before they can do any real playing on the guitar.

It’s not about creativity, it’s about the person you are becoming while you are creating.

-Charlie Peacock

The student may even start to think that they just don’t have what it takes to be a musician or that it is somehow their own fault that they are struggling with the guitar.  The unfortunate truth is: Most guitar teachers are actually the main reason that most guitar players never advance beyond the beginner level and eventually end up losing interest in playing the guitar altogether.

The problem isn’t with the guitar player, it is with the guitar teacher!

Do not let this discourage you–it actually is easy to get started playing right away, if you have a teacher who isn’t recycling the same outdated teaching methods everyone else uses or using some standardized “method” book that supposedly does all the teaching for them, but in reality often makes learning the guitar difficult, boring and frustrating.

The best and most effective way to get started on the guitar is to work with the right guitar teacher right from the start.  A teacher who will encourage you (or your child) to become the best you can be and take you through the steps of learning the guitar in a way that will ensure your progress, enable you to have fun while learning and feel confident that you are on the right path to becoming a great guitar player and musician.

At the Huntley School of Guitar this is how I approach teaching the guitar.  You can save yourself (or your child) from the frustration and the wasted time and energy that comes from working with the wrong guitar teacher who uses teaching methods that just don’t work.  With my guidance and innovative, specialized guitar teaching and training methods, you’ll be playing the guitar the way you want to–in no time.

– Melvin Perry

I met Zack with Huntley Guitar Lessons when my Husband gifted me a lesson package for Christmas, after years of wanting to learn how to play, but never feeling confident that I could succeed. Within my first lesson, I was already playing several chords and left the studio filled with hope! Zack’s enthusiasm for helping me learn, his obvious love of music and his infectious excitement as things are starting to click has been so encouraging for me as a student. He truly listens to what my goals are and teaches me according to what I want to accomplish most, so every lesson is geared specifically toward my personal growth. Zack truly loves what he does and it’s apparent in every aspect of his teaching. He has even taken the time to support me by sending quick videos when I’ve faced an obstacle in between lessons. Zack is an incredible teacher who cares tremendously about his students and their success. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who is thinking about taking lessons
