My name is Zach Mayle and I have been taking lessons from Zack Uidl for about a year and a half. I was looking for guitar teachers when i was in need of one and found Zack and ever since the first lesson we've become great friends. Every lesson is fun, interesting, exciting and I learn a ton from him. It's also really cool to watch him play. Whenever we solo together he does these crazy awesome solos and I think about how much I want to be like him. He's a great role model for anyone, especially anyone that wants to jam out on a guitar! I think taking lessons from Zack can transform anyone into a great guitarist. |
How to avoid the number one pitfall that affects beginning guitar players
Many beginning guitarists usually go looking for guitar lessons and fall for the "lowest price" or "teacher closest to my house" or "music store teacher" guitar lessons--thinking that all guitar teachers and guitar lessons are the same.
This is simply not true, and it is the number one pitfall that affects beginning guitar players and causes them massive amounts of frustration and leaves them discouraged with their progress (or lack of it) on the guitar. Soon, they find themselves either completely bored with unmusical finger exercises, boring songs, or they end up completely overwhelmed and frustrated with "too much information, too soon" from their teacher before they can do any real playing on the guitar.
The student may even start to think that they just don't have what it takes to be a musician or that it is somehow their own fault that they are struggling with the guitar. The unfortunate truth is: Most guitar teachers are actually the main reason that most guitar players never advance beyond the beginner level and eventually end up losing interest in playing the guitar altogether.
The problem isn't with the guitar player, it is with the guitar teacher!
Do not let this discourage you--it actually is easy to get started playing right away, if you have a teacher who isn't recycling the same outdated teaching methods everyone else uses or using some standardized "method" book that supposedly does all the teaching for them, but in reality often makes learning the guitar difficult, boring and frustrating.
The best and most effective way to get started on the guitar is to work with the right guitar teacher right from the start. A teacher who will encourage you (or your child) to become the best you can be and take you through the steps of learning the guitar in a way that will ensure your progress, enable you to have fun while learning and feel confident that you are on the right path to becoming a great guitar player and musician.
At the Huntley School of Guitar this is how I approach teaching the guitar. You can save yourself (or your child) from the frustration and the wasted time and energy that comes from working with the wrong guitar teacher who uses teaching methods that just don't work. With my guidance and innovative, specialized guitar teaching and training methods, you'll be playing the guitar the way you want to--in no time.
Get ready to learn to play the way YOU want to play!
